DON'T YOU HAVE DOCS? PRESENTS A CONVERSATION WITH MAX WALKER

Don't You Have Docs? presents the 3rd instalment of its bi-monthly in conversation events in Melbourne on Tuesday June 4, 7pm. The June edition sees prominent documentary director Max Walker in conversation with moderator William Head. Beginning with his first film An African Christmas the discussion will focus on how Max managed to establish himself in the industry after studying at the VCA. We will also explore the realities of juggling a factual television career that includes director stints on big-budget shows like My Kitchen Rules and Who Do You Think You Are? with small, one-off social documentaries such as his Iraq film Salam Father. Finally we'll get the lowdown on how he is now turning a factual story into a theatrical feature film project called The Peacemaker. Be sure to check out Max's bio and trialer links below.

Venue: Gertrude's Brown Couch, 30 Gertrude St, Fitzroy, Melbourne
Time: 7-8.30pm, Tuesday June 4

Your documentary here

DYHD? started life as a screening program in 2011 that responsed to a lack of opportunites to show and watch short documentaries. We want to keep the tradition of screening support going and so in 2013 we are going to start sharing a curated selection of great documentary films on the film section our site. This takes the form of a VOD channel for indy and emerging filmmakers. The only catch is that the film needs to be already hosted on Distrify. DHYD? is not affiliated with Distrify in any way but we think it is a great service to help filmmakers distribute, share and make money from their work. We have a particualr focus on Australian documentaries but wil also screen international content we love. So if you've got a documentary that is already on Distrify and you would like us to consider it for our site please send us a link to watch. Send an email to info[AT]dontyouhavedocs.com with the subject 'doco share'
